International FAQ
Entry & Eligibility

What is the minimum age for each program?
There is no set minimum age for international students to study at QCD; however, most are at least 15 years of age or older. Relocating to a new country and adapting to a different environment can be a significant step, so a certain level of maturity is required to successfully manage the academic, cultural, and personal aspects of this experience.

Are there any pre-requisites for your courses?
Yes. Entry into all courses is by audition, and applicants must meet a minimum standard to be accepted.
For entry into Advanced Diploma courses, students must also have successfully completed the preceding Diploma qualification.

How do I audition?
To audition, complete the online audition form and select your preferred audition type.
We understand that most international applicants will apply via video submission, but we have included all available options below in case you are able to attend in person:

-
Online Video Submission – submit a video audition for review by the QCD faculty. Full details of what to include are outlined on the audition form.
-
Live Audition Experience Day – attend a full day of workshop-style classes with industry-leading choreographers and guest teachers at QCD. (Check our social media for upcoming dates and announcements.)
-
Join a QCD Class – participate in a regular QCD class alongside our current cohort. An individual date and time will be arranged upon receipt of your application.
What is the deadline for auditions?
Applications are accepted year-round. However, student visa processing times can vary and may be lengthy. To avoid disappointment, we recommend submitting your online audition as early as possible — ideally no later than the end of September in the year prior to your intended intake.
Study Pathways

Is there an option for part-time study?
No. QCD offers full-time training programs only for international students, as this is a requirement for visa eligibility.
Fees, Scholarships & Assistance

Can I receive government assistance such as HECS or Fee-HELP?
No. While QCD is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and all qualifications are nationally recognised, we are not currently approved to offer VET Student Loans. Therefore, international students are not eligible for HECS or VET Fee-HELP assistance.

Do you offer scholarships?
Yes. QCD awards a limited number of scholarships each year. These are granted at the discretion of the QCD team and cannot be applied for directly.

Do you offer payment schedules longer than 12 months?
No. Students should carefully review the financial requirements before enrolment to ensure they can meet their fee obligations.

Is there a discount for paying upfront?
No. QCD does not offer discounts for early or lump-sum payments.
Accommodation & Logistics

Do you provide accommodation or boarding?
Yes. QCD offers a small number of accommodation options for full-time students. These are shared housing arrangements with other QCD students and include accommodation only. Places are limited, subject to availability, and managed via a waitlist once enrolment is confirmed.

For students under 18 years of age:
Accommodation arrangements differ for students under 18. In these cases, QCD partners with the Australian Homestay Network (AHN) to arrange suitable accommodation and guardianship, unless a legal parent or guardian is accompanying the student in Australia for the duration of the course.

What are the contact hours?
Student training hours run from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with 3–4 practical classes scheduled each day.
The QCD Administration Office is open from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, for general enquiries and student support.

Can you provide an example of the timetable?
Timetables vary depending on the course. Please refer to the individual course pages on our website for sample structures and information about the types of classes included in each program.
